Music for Dogs

Music CD collection for dogS, about dogs and with dogs.

The trail to creating music for dogs was blazed by a gorilla named Koko. We created a  CD with her called Fine Animal Gorilla (Koko's name for herself). Koko actually vetted the songs. We thought interspecies communication was great and we wanted to do more with different animals.

MORE Songs To Make Dogs Happy is the second musical CD in our Ask The Animals series of songs approved by dogs for dogs utilizing the talents and expertise of nationally known intuitive animal communicator Dr. Kim Ogden. It is the product of two years of research into what dogs and their guardians like (musically speaking). Both the music and lyrics on MORE Songs To Make Dogs Happy have been tested and verified by focus groups of dogs as translated by Dr. Ogden using a process similar to the process we developed to create our first musical CD for dogs approved by dogs - — Songs To Make Dogs Happy.

The music and lyrics were composed based on the responses of individual dogs as well as focus groups of dogs conducted by Dr. Ogden over a period of several months.

The CD also includes songs for dog lovers based on our experience with our own dogs and the input we have received from hundreds of our customers and their dogs.

MORE Songs To Make Dogs Happy will bring a smile to both your dogs and you. It can help ease separation anxiety, make traveling with your dog less problematic and more fun and can comfort dogs in many other situations including shelters and animal rescues.

Music for DogsWe spent six months looking for a pet communicator to see if they could act as a translator of sorts between the animals and us. We saw Dr. Kim Ogden on World News Tonight and called her up and asked her if she thought she could help us. She said yes and that she wanted to start with music for dogs. Since we were dog lovers the thought of music for dogs was intriguing. Six months later we ended up releasing Songs To Make Dogs Happy –the first music for dogs approved by dogs CD – and our first music for dog’s release.

Dr. Kim (Dr. of public health) insisted that if we were going to create music for dogs, it was going to have to be qualitatively and quantitatively researched. Since this was the first time we had ever tried to create music for dogs we said absolutely.

We gave Dr. Kim a CD with different kinds of music and she would play the music for dogs in groups of 8 to 10 dogs at a time. She would send us the dog’s responses that we then used to create the music beds for the songs. We then had to create music for dog’s lyrics and marry them to the music beds created using the information sent to us by Dr. Ogden. We would then send the rough mixes back to Dr. Kim and she would test them out in a canine focus group for tempo, lyrics, melody and instruments. We did this several times with each song.

Music for Ugly Dogs

After four months of this back and forth research (making music for dogs is not as easy as one might think) we were ready for our final focus group testing before we released Songs To Make Dogs Happy.

Dr. Kim came to L.A. to conduct our final focus group. It was held at New Leash On Life – a no=kill shelter we sometimes work with in L.A and, by the way, a great to test out music for dogs.

We tested out all the songs with 13 dogs – 11 Shelter dogs and 2 pets.  Each dog had a handler with a leash and clipboard.  Dr. Kim would then go to each dogs as I played the songs and ask them what they though. Then, she would give the information to the handler who would then write it down on the clipboard. We then took that information and did a final tweak on the songs and – Presto! Six months after we started – music for dogs and a new direction for the music.

Songs To Make Dogs Happy - music for dogs – check it out with you dog.
