HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE— MUSIC FOR ACTIVISTS
A musical CD that every politician and business leader should also hear — dedicated to the spirit of putting our country back on track
Skip Haynes, owner of the Laurel Canyon Animal Company (L.A. based record label that creates music about, for and with animals) and a long time community organizer/activist has released Hold Them Accountablecreated for a different species of animal – the political animal.
•You've Killed The Gulf of Mexico — the title speaks for itself.
• Hold Them Accountable — The theme song for dealing with the total loss of moral standards and competency in our corporate and financial leaders and in individuals and agencies in our government who are paid to do the ‘Peoples Work” and aren’t doing so.
• Everyone Wants A Piece Of The Pie — the Trickle Down Theory — how it doesn’t work and what we should do about it.
• I’m A Real American — all of us are in this together and we need to unite and work as one to pull out of the terrible situation we’ve gotten ourselves into.
• Keep The Money In The Country — just a thought . . .
• Step Up To The Plate —what everyone needs to do right now – become actively involved in his or her community and in the repair of the governing of our country.
• Haven’t You Done Enough — speaks to all our leaders (servants) both political and business who have and are miserably failing us both morally and practically.
• Time To Close The Borderline — examines the security risk our open borders present.
• The Patriot Act — a heads up on paying attention to what our government is doing because our government is certainly paying attention to us.
“Although my profession is creating music for animal lovers, I also have been a community activist and organizer for the past ten years.
Comments made during the elections motivated me to combine both activities and become a musical activist. All the songs are based on personal experience in dealing with people in both my community and government.
I believe we can overcome the horrible situation we have gotten ourselves into in this country. The songs in Keep The Money In The Country are about some of the core issues I believe need to be dealt with immediately and my thoughts on just how we can begin accomplishing the turnaround.
My hope is that Keep The Money In The Country will act as a musical instigator ( like soup starter) to get people involved and to keep them focused on things we need to accomplish to turn our country around.
If anyone asked me what I thought the single most important thing that will make this turnaround possible, I would have to say accountability. If our government and business leaders were held accountable for their words, decisions and actions it would be quite a different state of affairs here in the United States.”
Keep on truckin’ and Keep ‘em Accountable”
